Aspen Mountain

It’s no secret that we’re a little ski-obsessed here at VacationRoost, but there’s something extra-special about hitting up the mountain after a huge storm dumps down layer after layer of fresh powder. Here’s a (short) list of the many things we love about POW days to get you pumped for the upcoming season. Bring on the POW!

  1. High fives in the tram line

  2. Tallboys on the tram deck

  3. Watching a buddy slay a line he’s never skied

  4. Getting lost and finding a new pow stash you never knew about

  5. Pow beards

  6. That first chair feeling

  7. Face shots

  8. Like riding on a cloud

  9. Cover up’s

  10. Silence thru the trees then loud hoots from the lifts

  11. Big cliff drops

  12. Yahooing in the trees

  13. Being excited to wake up EARLY

  14. Getting out in terrain I wouldn’t do without a cushion of powder

  15. Soft Landings

  16. Carving first tracks in fresh pow

  17. Breaking out the snorkel

  18. Taking a sick day

  19. Skipping work for a “dentist appointment”

  20. The buzz in a ski town on the way in

  21. Looking down 2000 feet of untracked vertical before you get it

  22. Skiing pitches you can’t usually ski

  23. The TREES

  24. The bumps and steeps

  25. The woo hoo’s heard across the resort

  26. Crashing and rolling down steep slopes without the bumps and bruises

  27. Pointing em’

  28. Catching a rope drop

  29. The sound of guns in the morning

  30. See you at the bottom
  31. Letting the mountain lead the dance & enjoying fresh powder
  32. The hot tub after a day on the slopes
  33. Sipping Whiskey on the chair to warm up
  34. Watching everyone else enjoy it
  35. Posting pics and knowing your friends will be jealous
