There are several reasons why vacationers pack up and head to the mountains for the summer, some of which are they want to cool down and beat the heat, embark on a great hiking or mountain biking adventure, tee off at 9,000 feet with a great game of golf, or they are just simply mountain lovers stuck in city life. Whatever the reason is for wanting to gain altitude this summer, some of our favorite mountain destinations { Keystone, Big Sky, Crested Butte, and Beaver Creek} will be sure to offer a plethora of activities, events, and fantastic cuisine.


  • Snow-tube in your summer clothes at Adventure Point tubing!
  • Check out the famous Bluegrass and Beer Festival August 2&3.
  • Participate in an adult GPS Scavenger Hunt through River Run Village or Dercum Mountain.

{Big Sky}

  • Plan your vacation to attend the Vine and Dine Festival August 15-17.
  • Choose from 5 blue-ribbon trout rivers to cast off in and test your angler skills.
  • Take the short 1.5 mile round-trip hike to Ousel Falls and experience true beauty in nature.

{Crested Butte}

  • Stay in town July 7-14 for the famous Crested Butte Wildflower Festival.
  • Enjoy the local’s farmer’s market every Sunday for fresh produce and handmade goods.
  • Check out some of Crested Butte’s fine cuisine, with the most fine dining restaurants per capita than any other town in the U.S.

{Beaver Creek}

  • Join the locals at McCoy’s for summer movies under the stars in July and August.
  • Beaver Creek is famous for their Rodeo, happening July 3,10,17,31 and August 7,14.
  • Take a scenic 4 X 4 tour through the mountains to view Beaver Creek’s terrain.
